Women need someone to put them first in the early postpartum period. They need access to a trusted professional who will hold their hands through this transitional time when you are elated but exhausted, your hormones are changing rapidly and your body feels like it may belong to someone else altogether. But while you try to push all of that aside to focus on your new and beautify baby, let Mother Wit care for you.
Postpartum and Exercise
If you have had a baby, regardless of whether it was weeks, months or years ago, your plan will include exercises to restore abdominal and pelvic floor tone. More importantly, you will learn strategies that will allow you to move comfortably and confidently.
Babies feel light when they are newborns but trust me, they get heavy very quickly! Lifting children all day, everyday, takes strength and endurance. Healing your core after birth is essential for all women. Even with a strong athletic background, women need support as it can be hard to modify in such a way that promotes healing. After all, you became such a good athlete because you know how to push through discomfort.
If you are new to exercise, welcome! Every woman deserves the time and space needed to heal physically, mentally and emotionally after birth, especially if you have been diagnosed with diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence or if you are having pelvic pain.
Postpartum and Nutrition
Did you know that it takes more calories to maintain an adequate milk supply than it does to grow a baby? If you are in need of a nutrition tune-up, Mother Wit can help.
With personalized strategies and helpful tips and tricks, you can get your kitchen into tip top shape and ready for when that baby starts eating solids, which will happen faster than you can imagine.
If you are interested in learning healthier cooking strategies or are in need of a better understanding your caloric requirements as well as creating a healthy balance of protein, fats and carbs, we will get creative on your behalf.
