Your personalized work out will not only keep you in good shape, which is excellent preparation for labor, it will facilitate the best possible fetal positioning and will avoid exercises that can cause discomfort or put excessive stress on your abdominal wall and pelvic floor.
The most common reason I hear from women for not exercising during pregnancy is a fear of harming the pregnancy. The truth is, not exercising during pregnancy is associated with complications including excessive weight gain and an increased risk of developing high blood pressure and gestational diabetes.
It is recommended that pregnant women exercise for 2.5 hours per week in a fairly even mix of cardio and strength training. Come check out our group classes or individual training options.
